Only a short 1 1/2 hr away in Gainesville, and so much to see and do.
From EU Jacksonville:
The festival highlights the rich cultures and traditions of the Asian continent and provides a platform for the Asian community to showcase its heritage. With five stages of entertainment plus a Pan-Asian food court and retail area, the Heart of Florida Asian Festival has something for everyone to enjoy. This year, the festival features internationally known Chinese acrobats, Indian Bhangara dancers, Japanese martial artists, Philippine folk dancers and the beautiful Korean salp'uri performed in traditional dress. Food choices range from sushi to Indian curries to Singapore noodles and Thai iced tea, but a visual feast ensues when local treasure Pam Maneeratana brings a sophisticated grace and delicacy to the food area as she shows artistic mastery of Asian fruit carving. Exhibitions range from Temples and Festivals: A Celebration of Indian Art from the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art Collection in the Main Gallery and Korean paper cutting in the Mezzanine Gallery to the indoor landscapes of the Bonsai Society. A koi exhibition is a centerpiece of the outdoor garden area and all to the backdrop of lovely Asian music indoors and out.
